Team Ricochet, responsible for the security of the Call of Duty series, reveals details of the innovative technology Server cullingwhich will appear in the upcoming shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.

Previously, anti-cheating was known for its ingenious measures, such as phantom players – hallucinations and “quicksand” that disrupted control of violators. The new method is designed to combat the most annoying type of cheat – WH programs, which allow you to see your opponents through obstacles.

The essence of this technology is that the server stops sending the coordinates of invisible enemies behind obstacles to the game client. Since cheat software no longer receives this data through walls, it is physically impossible to detect hidden opponents.

The developers have confirmed that server culling will be enabled on all maps at launch, including DMZ mode and future Warzone seasons, which will seriously complicate the lives of software creators.
