Farever gets Heroic Mode on September 30th: Challenging dungeons and epic gear

Shiro Games has announced Call of Glory, the second major update for Farever. Will be released on September 30th.

The main innovation is the hero mode. This is a new difficulty level for dungeons and bosses, above Normal and Veteran. Bosses will have new attack patterns, more health, and unexpected twists. Enemies will still adapt to the number of players, but the author has increased the difficulty so that only well-prepared groups can win.

Victory in Heroic Mode rewards you with unique epic gear. Heroic dungeons also give out medals of glory, which can be redeemed for exclusive rewards.

Additionally, the update will include long-awaited features: emotes, friends list, resurrection of allies in battle, and improved group rewards.

Heroic mode and other changes are already available for testing on the public test branch. There are currently four dungeons in Heroic mode, with more to come later:

  • Lost City of Meda, Boss Nepsilon;
  • Crabgantua Gorge, near Crabgantua;
  • My Estrone, босс Reblochonk;
  • Latsar’s Lair, Boss Ratsar.

Spark Cube is already available in beta. Temporarily sold to the guild merchant. The item accumulates 50% of the damage dealt to each enemy, dealing full damage after 20 seconds. The author calls this a mandatory requirement for Heroic Mode. After use, the cube will refill the obelisk’s water. We’ve also added a compass to the map, an active marker (visible only to you or the entire team), improved chat channels, and visibility of allies through walls.

New test features are added every week. Plans include more heroic dungeons and bosses, Medal of Honor merchants, special heroic mode achievements, an infusion system with faction rewards, a reputation system, emote lists, and performance improvements.

To test, right-click Farever in your Steam library, select “Properties” → “Betas”, and then select Public Beta Branch. Comments are collected in separate forums on Discord and Steam, as well as in a super thread on Reddit. Allows transferring content from the test branch.

Let’s remember that Shiro Games previously announced the game’s release date, and it went all out to save Early Access after it started having problems.
