With fall upon us, we’re now officially entering the most profitable season from a video game publishing perspective, and we’ve started to see something this week that prompts us to ask the classic question: What will you play this weekend?
There have been a lot of game releases in recent days indeed, with at least two or three big-bore versions awaiting those with Gears of War: E-Day launching in the days starting next Tuesday, of which you can already read our review and some of you can already play it through special edition early access.
Beyond that, we obviously have to take into account the games that have been released in recent days, some of which are sure to be very active on many screens, such as Control Resonant, Silent Hill: Town Falls and EA Sports FC 27.
A truly enriching week
Let’s start this very informative week, which begins with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered Editionor a massive free update (for original owners) that applies significant technological advancements to the famous CD Projekt RED RPG.
The game may have been completed by many users, but this is really an ideal opportunity to dust it off or discover it for the first time in case you haven’t paid proper attention over the past decade or more, thanks to this new graphic design that keeps it always up to date even in terms of aesthetics.
Minecraft Dungeons II, a review of Mojang’s buggy and co-op action RPG
Another noteworthy release that occurred during the first half of the week was minecraft dungeons 2: The new action RPG continues the unique philosophy of this sub-series and actually focuses on combining the typical elements of Diablo with the world of Minecraft.
The result is a strange but successful title that will likely attract millions of Minecraft fans into this new world, which may also serve as an introduction to some of the new features that will appear in the main chapters, such as The Sift’s new dimension.
Looking ahead, in the second half of the week, we saw Rayman Legends RecapA complete remake of the original 2D platformer, it manages to bring back the spirit of the old Retold, but with a new graphic design and some features that modernize the mechanics, even though it’s already an absolutely enjoyable game today.
Perhaps the most surprising announcement is Ace Combat 8: Tiv Wingswhich has developed Bandai Namco’s long-standing shooting/flight simulation series to a remarkable level of quality, as evidenced by excellent reviews from specialized media.
It’s been years since we’ve seen such a well-crafted chapter, and you can get a better idea of it by reading our review of Ace Combat 8: Wings of Them.
All in all, there’s a lot of choice and the quality is impressive: with all this in mind, what will you be playing this weekend?
