The developer of Graveyard Keeper 2 admits that some of the game’s mechanics have gone from being a habitual chore to a true routine. After the first patch, the team will work on balancing and automation so that players don’t have to repeat the same actions too often.
In upcoming updates, zombies will bring more gears to the conveyor belts, and helpers will be able to independently collect crafting resources and restart production in furnaces and smelters. Zombie farmers will also gain more independence: they will start collecting peat and start new processes in the compost pile.
These changes will also affect other systems. The developers will increase the amount of faith in Sermons, allow you to move established workstations, and redesign the panic reduction system. The number of available order slots will depend on population, and merchant improvements will be streamlined and rebalanced.
In addition, hypnotic devices can be recharged through astrologers, and zombies can finally be cremated. The team notes that this is only part of the plan, so Graveyard Keeper 2 should gradually become less of a job maintaining a cemetery—a job you still want to leave to the zombies.
