OpenAI has launched a new ultra-fast mode designed to significantly accelerate GPT-5.6 Sol. Ultra-fast mode will be used for tasks where responsiveness is particularly important.

According to news TechCrunch refer to blog Ultrafast allows GPT-5.6 Sol to run 14 times faster than standard mode, issuing up to 750 output tokens per second. OpenAI points out that previously high-speed work in artificial intelligence was often achieved through the use of smaller or specialized models, but now the performance of the most powerful models will be combined with faster response generation.
The new model can be used for enterprise tasks that require rapid information processing, including incident response, customer service, financial market analysis and e-commerce. Ultrafast is currently in preview and is currently only available to a select group of customers and is supported through a partnership with chipmaker Cerebras.
OpenAI did not specify a timetable for a full launch, only promising to gradually expand its availability as computing power grows. OpenAI’s competitors, such as Anthropic, have also released accelerated versions of their models. Claude has a “fast mode”, but it doesn’t provide the speed that OpenAI currently offers.
