Publisher Take-Two has published its next quarterly report, from which it became known that plans for the release date of Grand Theft Auto 6 have not yet changed – the game is still intended to be released in 2025. This is the first report since the announcement of Grand Theft Auto 6, and Take-Two executive Strauss Zelnick could not help but be asked about the expected project from the Rockstar studio. He was a man of few words, refusing to answer most of the questions, but he did comment on a few things:
About the impact of the announcement of Grand Theft Auto 6 on Take-Two’s financial performance: “The Grand Theft Auto series is benefiting greatly from the excitement surrounding Rockstar’s announcement of Grand Theft Auto VI and the release of its first trailer.” Over the past quarter, the publisher sold another 10 million copies of Grand Theft Auto V, and total sales of the project reached 195 million copies.Comparing Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto VI in terms of expectations and hype: “We believe that expectations [от новой части] much higher. Much, much higher.”About the quality of the new part of Grand Theft Auto: “We strive for excellence. When we feel like we’re creatively ready, it’s time to release. […] There is potentially an inevitable tension between bringing something to market and creating excellence. But in this case, the developers are on the side of perfection.”
Strauss Zelnick did not answer questions about when we can expect more details about Grand Theft Auto 6 or gameplay demos of the project.
