Even two years after the launch of “Elden Ring,” there is no date in sight for “Shadow of the Erdtree.” In the FAQ section of Kadokawa’s latest annual report there is at least a fairly general status update, which also includes the term “publication date”.
Many fans are eagerly awaiting the big expansion for the FromSoftware hit “Elden Ring”. However, he got it “Shadow of the Erdtree”-DLC Haven’t missed an appointment yet. And speculation that there will be a surprise launch in February can safely be ignored due to the progress of the month.
While FromSoftware remains largely silent, the expansion is at least mentioned in the latest annual report from parent company Kadokawa. But we still don’t have a date.
We’re working hard on it
The mention of “Elden Ring” and its plans are part of an FAQ section that is included in the said financial report and addresses the release date.
The question is: “What is the status of development of the DLC for Elden Ring and when will it be released?”
The answer says short and sweet: “We are currently hard at work developing the DLC for Elden Ring, but we have not announced a release date yet.”
The statement was supplemented with even more general words: “Various measures are currently underway for Elden Ring, including the development of a larger DLC [Langzeitwert] to maximize.”
It is therefore unclear when “Shadow of the Erdtree” will invite you to take a new excursion into the world of the FromSoftware hit – even if Steam recently gave supposed indications that development is nearing the home stretch:
Kadokawa’s financial disclosures also show that the company’s gaming division generated higher than previously expected profits from the release of Armored Core 6 and Elden Ring.
Even two years after the release of the first mentioned role-playing game, there are still continuous sales.
Elden Ring as a mobile game and Armored Core 6 in the PSN sale
The title apparently also reaches other platforms: Tencent is reportedly having a mobile game developed based on “Elden Ring”. The company is said to have acquired the necessary license rights from owner From Software as early as 2022. However, progress is slow:
In the case of “Armored Core 6”, it is worth taking a look at the direction PlayStation Store. The title is Part of the latest PSN sale and on offer at the previous best price of 48.99 euros. Outside the PlayStation Store, lower amounts are sometimes due, which is of course of little help to owners of the PS5 Digital Edition.
