OpenAI is making some changes to ChatGPT that could make all future interactions easier. All because the company will add memory resources to the generative AI platform.
With this new “tool”, ChatGPT will “remember” previous interactions, “remembering” all the information that users have provided in the past.
OpenAI wants more personal interactions on ChatGPT
New memory resource will adapt to the theme of the Crédito@Franz Bachinger/Pixabay interaction
In practice, this means that users will not have to repeat information all the time. OpenAI’s goal is for all interactions occurring on the generative AI platform to be more personal.
But the news improves. According to the information released, this is not a general feature. In other words, if you are using the platform to recommend series, for example, the bot will “remember” all the series you have seen and which genres you like most.
Apparently, this resource will also allow better monitoring of progress when practicing physical activity or more efficient study planning.
New privacy options
According to the information released, this new feature also brings with it new privacy options. After all, the generative AI platform cannot violate certain parameters and be intrusive.
In the settings menu, the memory option will allow you to adjust the data that is left on the platform, that is, it will be possible to tell ChatGPT to “forget” certain information. Furthermore: there will also be a temporary conversation option, in which the user can interact at will, without leaving a trace of what was said.
For now, the new memory tool is only being tested on a small, selected group of users. No information has yet been provided regarding the date of the massive availability of ChatGPT memory.
