Barely released, already updated. Samsung is not hanging around and seems to want to set a good example (especially with 7 years of promised updates). Here is an update for the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus and S24 Ultra that improves several features.
A more customizable display
One of the main new features is the ability to change the vividness of the screen. This feature allows users to choose between brighter, more saturated colors, or more natural, neutral colors.

Vividness is the intensity of the colors displayed on the screen. A screen with high vividness will have brighter, more saturated colors, while a screen with low vividness will have more neutral, more natural colors.
Samsung explains that this option creates “a more natural and customizable visual experience”. This feature is especially useful for users who find the default screen colors too bright or too dull.
Note that Samsung did not mention “grainygate”, an issue that affects some Galaxy S24 users. This is a rendering problem on a few units, we will talk about it in more detail in a dedicated article.
Camera improvements
The software update also brings improvements to the Galaxy S24’s camera.
Zoom: Zoom performance has been improved Portrait mode: Portrait mode has been improved with better bokeh and better subject edge detection Night photography: Night photography has been improved with better noise reduction and better capture of details in dark areas Video shooting: Video shooting has been improved with better image stabilization and better color capture.
This update will be available in February, at least that’s what Samsung promises.
