Disabling the system was not mentioned in the update patch note.
Neowiz studio has released update 1.5.0.0 for the hardcore action game Lies Of P. The update fixed various bugs, improved the Japanese localization, and added some new content to the game: additional equipment.
At the same time, CrackWatch noted that patch 1.5.0.0 removed the Denuvo anti-piracy protection system from the PC version of Lies Of P. It is assumed that this could have been done accidentally: the patch note does not mention disabling the security system.
Although more than five hours have passed since the release of the patch, the Lies Of P developers have not yet returned Denuvo to the game. Perhaps Neowiz simply didn’t notice that they disabled the system, but there is another option: Denuvo was removed intentionally.
Typically, developers shut down the system when their contract with the Denuvo authors comes to an end. As a rule, such contracts are concluded for periods divisible by six months; six months from the release of Lies Of P will only be in mid-March.
In any case, pirates have already noticed the disappearance of protection in Lies Of P. There is probably no point in returning it.
