In the midst of this pile of news about the future of Xbox, we haven’t forgotten about the alleged Nintendo Direct which, according to various insiders, should have been broadcast in these hours. Where have you been?
For several days there have been rumors of the possible broadcast of a Nintendo Direct today Thursday 15 February, but not a single blow has been struck from Kyoto. How come? Were the insiders wrong? It is certainly possible, since their words have nothing official, however the truth could be different. According to Jeff Grubb there was indeed a Direct scheduled these days, but Nintendo would have decided to postpone it so as not to overlap with the Xbox Podcast.
“I know no one wants to know, but just like when the Queen died, this is real,” Grubb began on X.com with his usual tongue-in-cheek manner. “Earlier this week I heard that they were considering postpone the Direct due to the Xbox Business Update. I never knew the exact date. I’ve only heard of mid-February“.
The hypothesis is certainly plausible: well aware of the media resonance that a meeting on the future of Xbox would have had, Nintendo may have actually decided to postpone everything to a calmer moment, in order to take all the spotlight for itself. It should be noted, in any case, that in the absence of official information it is impossible to be sureso at the moment we can’t help but continue to wait for the possible announcement of this elusive Direct.
