Alan Wake 2 is one of the top games of last year. The project received a large number of awards, and some publications even called it “Game of the Year.” On February 16, Remedy revealed how many copies of the Alan Wake sequel have been sold since its launch on October 27, 2023.
By the beginning of February 2024, Xbox Series X was sold worldwide | S, Playstation 5 and PC, a total of 1.3 million copies of Alan Wake 2. At the moment, Alan Wake 2 is Remedy’s fastest-selling game. Remedy is confident that Alan Wake 2 is “a great game that can bring great sales,” as it was with Control. Total sales of Control have already exceeded 4 million copies, while the game started with noticeably worse sales than Alan Wake 2. Alan Wake 2 has already recouped a significant part of the development and marketing costs. Currently, two paid DLCs are being developed for Alan Wake 2, and other updates are also being prepared for project support.
Remedy studio noted in its sales report for Alan Wake 2 that the successful release allowed it to support other games that are currently in development: Condor, Control 2 and a remake of Max Payne 1&2.
