In a release trailer produced exclusively for IGN, the development team shows the state of Sons Of The Forest for release version 1.0, which will be released on February 22, 2024. After the last early access patch, it was emphasized that the time without an update cycle would be used to get the game ready for release.
What do you see in the trailer? On the one hand, there are raccoons that scurry around in the forest and climb trees. For another, there appear to be several new spooky areas to explore, at least one new monster with multiple limbs, jump pads to launch dragons from the ground, and GPS for gold carts. You also see a little more of Timmy, whose role in Sons Of The Forest is set to be expanded.

What is Sons Of The Forest about?
Sons Of The Forest is a sequel to The Forest, has the same gameplay framework, but is definitely different. You play a trained soldier on a mission – that’s a little different than John Doe’s accidental crash in the first part. They were looking for his son, now he’s a missing billionaire. The change may seem small, but it has a lasting impact on the gaming experience.
To do this, the eight of you in a co-op simulate the “arrival of the white man on a tropical island”, cut down everything and build an extensive fort that protects you from the indigenous “population”. The construction system has been significantly improved and was able to mature in early access. Sons Of The Forest sold two million copies within 24 hours and even caused Steam’s billing to cancel the service upon release. The result was long waiting times.
