The first rumors about Google’s next foldable have already started to circulate, but now YouTuber TT Technology has gone further and made a video with the first renderings of the Pixel Fold 2. We can see the model in three dimensions, but be aware that this is a representation based on rumors, everything could still change.
The first difference compared to its predecessor is the design of the rear camera module. The Pixel Fold 2 may feature a rectangular island instead of the previous model’s bar, characteristic of Pixel models.
As you can see in the video, the renderings now released show that the sensors are housed in a pill-shaped cutout, and the corners are also square in shape.
Rumors suggest that the model will have a quad-camera configuration that will integrate a primary, ultra-wide-angle and telephoto sensor. Regarding the fourth sensor, there is speculation that it could be a periscope or an infrared sensor.
Tensor processor could influence Pixel Fold 2 release date
As for the technical specifications of the Pixel Fold 2, little information has been released so far. But it is known that the brand’s proprietary Tensor processor could influence the terminal’s market launch date.
If Google decides to present the new foldable at its I/O event this year, the model could arrive equipped with the Tensor G3 chip, introduced last year with the Pixel 8 series of smartphones.
But if the research giant wants to integrate its latest processor, Tensor G4, into the new foldable, the Pixel Fold 2 will only be launched in October this year.
For now this is the information available, but it is likely that more revelations will be made over the next few months, as is usual with Google’s hardware line.
