To say the least, the concept is intriguing.
Developers from the Russian Watt Studio presented the debut trailer for the adventure action game in the Teslapunk style Trains: Electrostorm. The release dates for this project, which in the past was called Trains: Through Electric Storms, were also announced.
In this game we take on the role of the electric human Anya, who can control electric fields, levitation and even telekinesis. But even this is not a distinctive feature of the project, because there are also Trains. And Anya is able to control the latter by deciphering the sounds they make.
The description of such an unusual project says the following: “Use a gauss pistol and the power of a magnetic field to knock down enemies, levitate and solve tricky puzzles. Free the Trains and light up a bright Star in the darkness of the electric storm!”
Throughout the first trailer, the main character really uses all her stated abilities and even manages to interact with those same Trains. The first viewers of the video have already managed to compare Trains: Electrostorm with Control from Remedy Entertainment. There is also a fearless girl here who uses telekinesis, she can also levitate and solve problems with the help of a unique pistol.
All the action takes place in the alternative world of the twentieth century. Humanity is plunged into chaos due to wandering and uncontrollable electric fields in the air, interaction with which is fatal to any living creature. Thirty years ago, Doctor N was able to harness deadly energy and turn it into good. This discovery provided his railway company with growth and development, so it became the most prosperous in the world, and his trains were the fastest, cheapest and safest way to travel through electrical storms.
Later, a terrible explosion occurred, and Doctor N dies, revealing the secret of his heritage in letters only to his young daughter Anna. He created a perpetual motion machine that all the corporations in the world are after. The main character needs to find his drawings and save the great invention for humanity. There will certainly be difficult moral dilemmas.
Driven gameplay, an electropunk spirit and much more have already been announced for Trains: Electrostorm. The project is being developed for PC (its own page has appeared on Steam), the release should take place in the fourth quarter of 2025.
