Developers are optimizing, not increasing capacity.
The popularity of the cooperative action game Helldivers 2 turned out to be higher than the developers expected: since the release, players have been complaining about unstable servers and are advised to buy more hardware. Apparently this is not an option.
In a series of deleted tweets, Arrowhead Game Studios boss Johan Pilestedt explains: Helldivers 2 can't be fixed simply by adding more servers. First of all, you need to optimize the game code.

Head of Arrowhead Game Studios
It's not about money or buying more servers. It's about work. We need to optimize the server code, we run into certain limits.
Pillestedt did not specify how long it might take to optimize the server side of Helldivers 2 and did not explain why he deleted tweets dedicated to the finalization of the game.
Since its release, the developers of Helldivers 2 have periodically increased the capacity of the servers, opening access to the project to more and more new players. Currently, up to 450 thousand people can be on the Helldivers 2 servers at the same time.
It is expected that Helldivers 2 will receive several more patches in the coming days, improving the quality of the game and correcting some of the bugs found.
