With the limited capabilities it offers, the market that Sony wants to target with the Playstation Portal is quite specific. It was created to facilitate the needs of gamers who want to play Playstation 5 games with more flexibility in terms of location and also gamers who happen to not always have full access to their television or main monitor. This situation means that the Playstation Portal currently functions as a Playstation 5 remote play machine without other crucial functions. However, as can be predicted, it is only a matter of time until its “potential” is unlocked by third parties.
There is only time left until the Playstation Portal's “potential” is unlocked. It was a team of hackers who apparently worked at Google who carried out this noble task by enabling the Playstation Portal to play current PSP games. This hacker team succeeded in injecting the PSP emulator – PPSSPP into the Portal, which means this machine can now play PSP games natively, without having to connect online or do any streaming action. They managed to achieve this achievement within the last month, with a pure hacking process on the software side without additional hardware.
After more than a month of hard work, PPSSPP is running natively on PlayStation Portal. Yes, we hacked it. With help from xyz and @ZetaTwo pic.twitter.com/AXuRROo6Ip

Nyuyen alias @theflow0 also confirmed that the Playstation Portal currently only has around 6GB of storage, which in official use is of course allocated to its Android-based operating system. There is no information whether they will release this hack to the public or not. What do you think of this situation?
