OnePlus has revealed a teaser of its OnePlus Watch 2. The manufacturer's first foray into the smartwatch segment was considered a failure. The original OnePlus Watch faced numerous complaints from users, mainly due to a poor update to the proprietary operating system. OnePlus seems ready to correct its mistakes with the OnePlus Watch 2.
The OnePlus Watch 2 will have a circular design inspired by the OnePlus 12
In a photo published on the OnePlus community, the Chinese manufacturer revealed the design of its next smartwatch, whose name has not yet been revealed and which would probably bear the name OnePlus Watch 2.
Although the photo only reveals the silhouette of the connected watch, it confirms a circular shape similar to that of the original Watch and inspired by the ring of the photo module of the OnePlus 12 (test).

The OnePlus Watch 2 would arrive with a few design touches to distinguish it from the original OnePlus Watch. First, the right side would present a block with a physical button. This corroborates previous renderings shared by the On Leaks leaker.

The slogan “It’s time to do it right!” (it's time to get it right) could suggest that OnePlus would ditch its custom operating system in favor of Wear OS on the OnePlus Watch 2.
With this in mind, OnePlus could offer more third-party apps and customizations for the OnePlus Watch 2, which is one of the main shortcomings of its predecessor.
However, nothing has been confirmed yet and we don't know if the OnePlus Watch 2 will feature Wear OS 3.5 or the newer Wear OS 4 that powers the Google Pixel Watch 2 (review), the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 (review) and other Android smartwatches.
OnePlus Watch 2 launch date and price
OnePlus also hinted that the OnePlus Watch 2 could be made official on February 26, as described in the teaser which announced a competition that will run until that date. The date coincides with the start of the MWC in Barcelona, which begins next week.
Leaker Max Jambor also previously stated that the OnePlus Watch 2 would be announced at Europe's annual tech show. He added that the smartwatch will be equipped with a 1.43-inch circular Oled display and a Snapdragon W5 Gen 1.
However, we don't yet know how much the OnePlus Watch 2 will cost, but it should be more affordable than most other models on the market.
