Il first trailer for Borderlands is finally among us. After yesterday's teaser trailer, published exclusively by IGN, Lionsgate has unveiled the first official trailer for the film based on the iconic franchise by Gearbox Software and 2K.
Borderlands, the film: cast, director and synopsis
Obviously the friendly Claptrap is present, played for the occasion by Jack Black
Let's remember that a film adaptation based on Borderlands has been discussed for a long time. The first solid rumors came in 2020, when Gearbox's Randy Pitchford announced the name of the director, Eli Roth. A few months later it arrived the first name of the cast: Cate Blanchett. Confirmation later came participation of Jack Black as Claptrap and the presence of Tim Miller, director of Deadpool, for the action scenes.
The film is written by Craig Mazin (who no longer wants to have anything to do with the film due to internal differences), Aaron Berg, Oren Uziel, Tony Rattenmaier, Zak Olkewicz, Chris Bremer and Sam Levinson, perhaps the latter triggering cause of the arguments with the screenwriter of Chernobyl and The Last of Us. The cast is made up of Tiny Tin, Kevin Hart, Cate Blanchett, Jack Black, Jamie Lee Curtis, Florian Munteanu, Gina Gershon, Cheyenne Jackson, Charles Babalola, Benjamin Byron Davis, Steven Boye, Ryann Redmond e Bobby Lee.
