Despite being missing from the scene for a decade, Armored Core 6 sold nearly 3 million copies worldwide marking a great return for the series. And the success achieved so far has satisfied so much FromSoftware which we will most likely still hear about Armored Core in the future.
During an interview with IGN Japan, Hidetaka Miyazaki from FromSoftware focused on the excellent feedback obtained from Armored Core VI Fires of Rubiconthus ensuring that there will be a future for the franchise: “We made Armored Core VI and the series is very important for FromSoftware, and we have the desire to continue it in the future”, says the famous game designer adding that “Armored Core VI it was a success, but not everything was perfect and there is still room for improvement, so I certainly don't intend to stop here. For now, however, nothing has been decided on the future of the series yet.”
For the moment, the Japanese company is not yet thinking about how to continue the brand, but from Miyazaki's words it seems practically certain that in the future Armored Core VII will become reality, considering the satisfactory numbers recorded by the sixth episode published on PC and console PlayStation e Xbox in August 2023.
FromSoftware's present is meanwhile entirely focused on the release of Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, the highly anticipated expansion of the acclaimed blockbuster available starting June 21, 2024.
