Before Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, there were plans for a Batman movie that could have starred Clint Eastwood, but the project was canceled.
In all these years, there have been many actors who have played Batman in film and television, adapting to a greater or lesser extent the stories of the comics from DC, from the 1943 miniseries starring Lewis Wilson to the recent 2022 film with Robert Pattinson as the Dark Knight.
But Gotham's vigilante was close to having another movie in theaters whose project ultimately did not come to fruition.
The funny thing is that, if it had been made, it could have featured one of Hollywood's most legendary actors in the role of Bruce Wayne: Clint Eastwood himself.

Clint Eastwood was close to being Batman in a movie
Given the success of the animated series Batman Beyond (here known as Batman Beyond), Warner Bros. planned to release a live-action version to the big screen under the direction of Boaz Yakin, who would also co-write the script.
This project comes after the resounding failure of Batman and Robin, so the studio was looking for something fresh and new that would move as far away as possible from Joel Schumacher's film.
That is why this feature film began to be prepared with the idea that Clint Eastwood would play an elderly Bruce Wayne who, already retired as Gotham's vigilante, sees in young Terry McGinnis the potential to become the hero the city needs.
Adopting the boy as his new protégé, Bruce equips Terry with the latest technology so that he becomes Batman and assumes the mantle of the Dark Knight to dispense justice.
However, in August 2001 the Batman Beyond project was shelved in favor of Darren Aronofsky's Year One, which also ended up being canceled until finally Warner Bros. gave the green light to the trilogy of Dark Knight de Christopher Nolan. Would you have liked to see Clint Eastwood as Batman in a movie?
