Kathryn Newton has revealed what one of her key sequences in Abigail will be like: a dance that will surpass that of M3GAN and that in principle was not going to be so important.
Do you remember when, at the end of 2022, M3GAN triumphed on TikTok thanks to the peculiar dance of the killer doll protagonist of one of the latest horror films of Blumhouse. Well, it seems that this year M3GAN has had competition with Abigail, a horror and monster film directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin y Tyler Gillett.
Abigail, which will hit theaters next April 19thwill tell the story of a gang of criminals who kidnap the twelve-year-old dancer who gives the film its name.
While they are watching her to collect a ransom of 50 million dollars for her, they realize that their victim is not just any girl, but the daughter of a powerful figure from the underworld who is going to gradually destroy those who captured her.
Abigail will have a dance that will turn M3GAN around a thousand times
Kathryn Newtonone of the actresses in the film, has confessed in an interview with Collider that her character in Abigail will have a stellar dance moment that could be compared to the one we saw in M3GAN: “It's quite a spectacle. It's like M3GAN on steroidsand I didn't expect it,” confessed the actress.
Kathryn Newton explained that her dance scene for the film came about because of her great trust with filmmakers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.
When she read the script, she saw a sequence that was very long and ended with “and she dances,” but the actress ended up making that dance the real protagonist of the scene.
“I worked on a dance, and I recorded like a two-minute thing on my phone for them to hopefully pick five seconds,” Kathryn Newton explained. The actress added that Abigail's directors were amazed after seeing the dance and they decided to turn it into a full scene. Will it be able to live up to M3GAN?
