The real-time strategy classic Age of Mythology, published in 2002, will be released this year in the form of the completely revised and polished remake Age of Mythology: Retold for Xbox, PC and Game Pass.
As in the original, players go into epic battles with gods from the Greek, Nordic, Egyptian and Atlantic pantheons and command mystical units such as centaurs, trolls, mummies, jeweled crocodiles and powerful one-eyed cyclops.
Over 50 campaign missions take you to the walls of Troy, the icy deserts of Midgard or the quicksand of Egypt. Up to twelve players can jump into the action against each other or in co-op against the AI on numerous randomly generated maps and scenarios.
A newly released video highlights the character model and animation overhauls. Art director Melinda Rose demonstrates the improvements using the three characters Medusa, Pegasus and Cerberus.
