You may have heard of “smell cinema”. And there is actually this olfactory cinema – entertainment with the right smells for the viewer. But that didn't really catch on. For many films, that's perhaps a good thing.
Now, however, there is a device for the broad masses of the gamer landscape that provides the gaming experience with the right smells. The company GameScent sells a device that… Artificial intelligence recognizes what smell the small box should emit.

For example, if you want more immersion during a round of Call of Duty, you can connect the device and hear the “gunfire” and “explosions” in your nose. The whole thing can be controlled via an app. Judging by the pictures and videos, you place the small device near your PC, console or television.
GameScent can be connected to PCs, consoles and televisions using an HDMI cable and uses artificial intelligence to automatically recognize which smell should be played for which scene.
