In addition to the two actors, Jodie Turner-Smith and Greta Lee are expected to participate. Jared Leto, singer of 30 Seconds To Mars, has participated in several film productions, particularly cine-comics in the last period. For example, he was the Joker in Suicide Squad (and in Justice League in the Snyder's Cut), but also the Morbius of the Sony Cinematic Universe. Evan Peters, already very successful, has returned to the limelight with greater force thanks to his portrayal of Jeffrey Dahmer in “Monster”the Netflix miniseries.
Disney also revealed the first information on the plot. In Tron: Ares, Ares is the name of the computer program sent into the real world to fulfill a dangerous mission, to ensure that the first contact between humanity and beings equipped with AI takes place.
The film's screenplay was written by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne. Sean Bailey, Jeffrey Silver, Justin Springer, Emma Ludbrook, Steven Lisberger and Leto himself will be producers together with the main producer: Russell Allen. An interesting choice for direction is Joachim Rønning, who has already directed Maleficent and Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge for Disney.
In a recent statement, the director himself said he was excited at the idea of launching a new film in the franchise. Rønning also said he is convinced that the time is ripe to 'get back on the grid'.
