Yesterday, owners of Xiaomi smartphones were faced with cyclical reboots of their devices. The problem appeared after updating the SystemUI system component. After a day, the situation has not changed – a Xiaomi representative again apologized to users and said that the company continues to work to find a solution and warned against attempts to independently restore gadgets. Meanwhile, users of the w3bsit3-dns.com forum have found their own way to save smartphones with a locked bootloader.
The problem faced by owners of Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco smartphones is that after the update distributed by the company, instead of loading the operating system correctly, the smartphone reboots into recovery mode, which is designed to solve problems with the software. But switching to safe mode does not solve the problem and this leads to a cyclic reboot, which can only be exited by resetting the device to factory settings, with the loss of all data saved on the smartphone.
The problem affects devices running MIUI and HyperOS, as evidenced by numerous messages on thematic forums and in the Xiaomi community, although the company's technical support claims that the problem is “not widespread.”
Today, in the official Xiaomi community on VK, a company representative again clarified that Xiaomi is aware of the situation related to updating a system component, which “caused constant reboots on a small number of devices.” According to him, the ill-fated update has already been removed from online sources.
However, Xiaomi does not yet provide specific recommendations for returning smartphones to working condition, other than contacting technical support. “For those who have encountered a similar problem, we are trying to quickly find a way to restore the functionality of the devices. We ask anyone affected by this to contact support in their region,” the company said in a statement.
At the same time, information appeared on the w3bsit3-dns.com forum that some users managed to solve the problem on their own without losing data. However, remember that following these instructions, you do everything at your own peril and risk and may void your warranty. The official decision will obviously have to wait some more time.
