One of the most promising and interesting games of this first half of 2024 comes from Shift Up, a Korean development team unknown to the general console public. We are talking about Stellar Bladethird-person action that caught our attention with a peculiar post-apocalyptic setting and gameplay halfway between Nier and Sekiro.
On which platforms is Stellar Blade released?
Over time, some confusion has arisen in this regard, since the target platforms have changed over time. When it was announced in April 2019, the game was still called Project EVE and was aimed at PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. However, plans changed in September 2021 when, during a State of Play, Sony presented itself as a global publisher, therefore Stellar Blade will be released on April 26, 2024 exclusively on PlayStation 5.
When asked by Famitsu about the change of plans, Project Lead Kim Hyung-tae said: “I realized that I wanted to launch a high-quality game on a single platform. When it came time to choose which one, I decided that PlayStation 5 would have offered the best gaming experience. […] I loved video games even before the PlayStation brand was born, but I didn't have much money at the time. It wasn't until the arrival of PlayStation that I started playing. So PlayStation has played a significant role in shaping my values when it comes to video games.”
If you have come this far in the hope of finding indications regarding a possible multiplatform landing, we have bad news for you. Stellar Blade will not release on PC and Xbox Seriesand as of this writing there is no sign that this plan will change in the future
