The developers at Moon Studios sweetened the start of the weekend with lots of new impressions and details about their upcoming role-playing game “No Rest for the Wicked”. We have summarized the most important information for you.
Last month, developers Moon Studios admitted that their new role-playing game “No Rest for the Wicked” is a little longer coming. In order to have more time for the final finishing touches, delay The “Ori” makers are extending the project to the second quarter of Take-Two Interactive’s 2024/2025 financial year (July 1 to September 30, 2024).
At the end of the week, Moon Studios provided a 25-minute video that not only gives us fresh impressions from the world of “No Rest for the Wicked”. In addition, numerous new details about the fantasy RPG are mentioned in the video. As Cerin, who travels to Isola Sacra to fight the plague, you end up on a coast without weapons or equipment after a shipwreck.
According to their own statements, the developers attach great importance to a varied and coherent world that was designed entirely by hand. There is no procedurally generated content here. Additionally, Moon Studios promises day and night cycles with dynamic weather and an interactive environment.
Interactive elements include climbing vines or thin tree trunks that allow you to explore higher areas or cross raging rivers.
Loot and runes play an important role
As is typical of role-playing games, the hunt for loot and new equipment in “No Rest for the Wicked” is a large part of the appeal. The loot is randomly distributed throughout the game world, meaning no run should feel like the last. The quality of the loot or equipment is divided into the following rarity levels: white, blue, purple and gold.
White equipment is the most common, but it's also the easiest to customize. Blue items are rarer and offer high enchantment values. Purple equipment, on the other hand, offers even higher enchantment values, but is cursed with a negative attribute. Finally, the golden items that offer you unique enchantments await.
Runes, which you can create to give your character new skills, also play an important role. Since “No Rest for the Wicked” relies on a flexible class system, according to the developer, nothing prevents you from creating unusual character builds. According to Moon Studios, the most important thing here is your creativity.
Another special feature of “No Rest for the Wicked” concerns Sacrament, the capital of Isola Sacra, and the regions of the game world itself. By supporting the residents in their projects, helping to rebuild cities or completing certain missions, you actively influence the further development of the respective areas.
If you visit again later, you may find completely new missions and rewards. Further details about the game world of “No Rest for the Wicked” and the playful implementation of the role-playing game can be found in the attached video.
“No Rest for the Wicked” will be released for the PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S at a date that has not yet been specified. The early access launch on PC will take place on April 18, 2024.
