Only last January, Steam, Valve's digital gaming platform, exceeded the milestone of 33 million simultaneous players, setting a record. Now Steam has even reached a new record for simultaneous users. Steam reached over 34 million simultaneous players yesterday and was able to beat this record a little more today (current status: 24,649,583 users).
Steam: The most played games of the last 24 hours and of all time
It is of course interesting to take a look at the top 20 most played games of recent times via SteamDB (24 hours). Counter-Strike 2 is still the most played game. Directly behind it is DOTA 2. In third place is PUBG: Battlegrounds (who would have thought?), followed by Apex Legends, the sensational Helldivers 2 and Naraka: Bladepoint. Palworld is in 7th place, Last Epoch is in 8th place, the Source SDK Base 2007 is in 9th place and GTA 5 is finally in 10th place.
If we look at the most played players of all time on Steam, we find PUBG: Battlegrounds in first place with 3.2 million concurrent players. Second place is taken by Palworld with 2.1 million players, while Counter-Strike 2 is in third place, followed by Lost Ark and DOTA 2. The other places include Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, New World, Hogwarts Legacy and Baldur's Gate 3.
