Texas is the third state to offer such services.
Waymo, which grew up under the wing of the Alphabet (Google) holding, recently received regulatory approval to launch regular transportation of its employees using unmanned taxis in the administrative center of Texas – the city of Austin, as Reuters reports. So far, the permit covers an area of just over 100 square kilometers.

Let us remember that in California, the Waymo service also covers third-party clients, not only in Los Angeles, but also in the suburbs of San Francisco. Waymo One also operates in Phoenix, Arizona. Waymo's self-driving taxis will begin transporting third-party commercial customers in select areas of Austin at a later date, making the city the fourth US region where it will be available. In light of the misadventures of rival Cruise, which lost its executives and suspended its services across the United States after a pedestrian hit-and-run incident in San Francisco last October, Waymo's progress in expanding its service geographically appears compelling.
