March 6th, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. – Play whatever you want quietly and secretly: This is possible on Steam thanks to a new function – this is how you can now hide sex games etc. from friends who you would rather keep your virtual escapades from.
They've been on Steam for six years: games with sexual content as their primary characteristic. But in all this time, some people probably still didn't get involved in the raunchy fun. Not because they don't feel like it. And not just because many of the games are not available in Germany. But for the simple reason that you sit in a glass box on Steam at the end of the day and all your friends can see what you're playing. But after years of abstinence, this is no longer a problem.

Steam: How to hide your sex games from others
After a beta, the full feature is now available to everyone, with which you can keep your lewd escapades in the gaming world secret. Two elementary functions that Steam has implemented will help you:
Private purchases: When you purchase a game, you directly specify that it is “private” and therefore not even the purchase can be seen by others.Private Apps: You can also subsequently mark games as “private” so that only you can see them. Your friends can still check out your games library – just not the selected games that you would rather keep secret.
Thanks to beta feedback, the developers on Steam have also implemented valuable changes. Among other things, DLC for private games is also automatically made private. You will also receive a notification in your friends list that you are currently playing a private game, so don't forget it.
We can reassure anyone who also uses family sharing: As PC Gamer reports, the private feature also hides games from people who share the library with you via family sharing. In this context, private really means private – not like your children's room, which annoying siblings can storm into.
