March 6, 2024 at 9:36 a.m. – WoW players are eagerly awaiting patch 10.2.6 and are longing for news about season 4 and upcoming patches. But the news just isn't coming at the moment. WoW's Vice President Holly Longdale has now responded to this criticism of radio silence.
Looking at the weekly events in World of Warcraft, we once again noticed that there was neither an official blog post about the upcoming Hearthstone anniversary in WoW nor about patch 10.2.6 or season 4. That disappointed us and of course the WoW content creators a little.
This disappointment was spread by the content creator duo Taliesin & Evitel, among others. WoW's (buy now) Executive Producer & Vice President Holly Longdale responded to this mini-content lull or lack of news on Twitter.
“Sorry? Wait a little longer”

Under Taliesin and Evitel's tweet, Holly Longdale wrote: “Excuse me? We've learned that not having news and details is frustrating for our content creators and players. Give us a little time. Our goal is a little fun. As always, we are here to learn and serve, so to speak.”
Under the tweet, discussions arose again about why the small WoW Classic team communicates so much and the retail team is virtually silent. According to players, you could at least give small updates on development and not, like recently, release eight hero talent trees at once and then be silent again for three weeks, writes healer expert and WoW caster Jakbcastin.
Small glimpses into The War Within's in-depth feature or other mini-updates – even if they may be scrapped later – would be nice.
The “content lull” of WoW: Dragonflight in numbers
Not having any news to discuss is a shame. But are retail players actually in a content hole right now? The progress in the current Amirdrassil raid already feels like the end of an expansion. But the numbers say otherwise.

WoW: Legendary ax a guaranteed drop from today – under one condition
For many WoW players, the hunt for the current Legendary Fyr'alath will soon be over – because the drop is then guaranteed!
Eight to ten weeks between patches is the norm in WoW: Dragonflight – even if some of them were very small updates.
But compared to the previous expansion Shadowlands, where we had to wait eight months for a small X.1 patch, this is a real blessing.
Patch 10.2.6 is expected to release on March 20th. Then we would have had to wait ten weeks between the release of patch 10.2.5 and 10.2.6. In addition, one should not forget that in addition to patch 10.2.6 and season 4, we have the Harbinger event and the ominous timerunning Pandamonium in Patch 10.2.7 There are still two more features to pass the time.
And then the Hearthstone anniversary starts next week. Even if some WoW retail players already feel expansion fatigue in their virtual bones, there has always been a lot to do in Dragonflight and there will be again in the future. Are you currently still playing retail and are you feeling the “content lull”?
