Season 2 of “The Finals” premieres March 14, and strange things are happening in the arena. The game show has been infiltrated by the renegade hacker collective CNS, and the showrunners are desperately trying to decipher their cryptic messages – but one thing is clear: the show must go on!
During the packed new season of the Free2Play game, participants can enjoy new weapons for every class, the hacked new map SYS$HORIZON, the all-new 5v5 game mode Power Shift, a new skill-based league system, rewarded weekly career progression, private matches – for now in a feature-limited beta version – and experience the new hacker style of play that offers participants multiple ways to change the arena in their favor.
The Finals' new hacker playstyle puts players in the role of CNS, with a range of new gadgets and a new specialization that can be combined with players' existing weapons. Players remove walls, defy gravity, dig through the arena and transform objects – they become the glitch in the system, the ultimate cyber tactician, and bring a new dimension to the game.
The Dematerializer for Mediums: A specialization that temporarily obliterates physical surfaces such as walls, ceilings, or goo, allowing candidates to see, shoot, and traverse them. Players create new passages and close them again – turning every obstacle into an open door. The **Anti-Gravity Cube** for Heavys: A deployable cube that manipulates gravity in its immediate surroundings and lifts participants and objects upwards. Is it a tool for overcoming obstacles? Or a means of defense? That depends on each individual participant.
The Gateway for Lights: A pair of ready-to-use portals with limited range. When both are thrown and activated, participants and objects can move between the two locations. Anyone can use a portal, but players cannot see them or shoot through them. Perfect for a quick escape when things get tough. The Data Reshaper for Mediums: a gadget that turns enemy fortifications (or any object) into something completely different – for example, an enemy mine into a chair. Or an enemy turret into a table. Great for breaking through enemy defenses.
