Under the newly formed umbrella of Giant Skull, Star Wars Jedi Game Director Stig Asmussen is developing a new action adventure.
Stig Asmussen has founded a new studio, Giant Skull. At Respawn Entertainment he was game director for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Fallen Order, and at Sony Santa Monica he was responsible for God of War III.
The triple-A studio wants to develop gameplay-driven action-adventures set in captivating worlds.
As CEO, he says of the new studio: “Giant Skull’s studio culture is focused on creativity and curiosity. We’ve assembled a talented team known for compelling stories, heroic combat, and thrilling traversals, and our goal is to create a rich universe that players will want to lose themselves in for years to come.”
Asmussen has brought experienced developers on board for his studio. These include Jon Carr as Chief Technology Officer, who was previously Technical Director for Jedi Survivor, and Art Director Patrick Murphy, who was involved in the same role on the games Fortnite and Valorant.
Anthony Scott, Chief Operating and Financial Officer, said: “Our values for the studio should be reflected in the way we make our games and our relationship with players – autonomy, dynamism, curiosity and respect. We want players to join us every step of this amazing journey as we pave the way for our upcoming game. We are creating something special and have been fortunate to assemble an incredible team of developers who are extremely passionate and experienced in creating genre-defining third-person action-adventure games.”
