Valve fulfilled the dream of many fans in February 2022: Steam Deck, a portable PC designed to be used anywhere, from airplanes and trains during trips to at home in desktop mode using an external monitor. Their models have not ceased to amaze players who have their entire library on Steam. Although it has a small drawback: not all games are compatible.
After two years since its launch, the catalog of Steam Deck has grown enormously. If we trust the SteamDB website, we are talking about 14,023 compatible video games… more or less. Only 4,607 video games have Valve Verification, which means that 9,416 are playable… but they can cause problems or have settings that we must modify by hand.
Valve has a classification system to determine the level of compatibility: Verified means that it can be played without problems, Playable indicates that there may be incompatibilities or that we must make manual configurations, and the classifications Not compatible and Unknown are among those not available for Steam Deck. In fact, the company announced that it is working on a better version of the system.
This is a very respectable number of video games that more than justify the purchase of any of its versions. And we're not just talking about exclusive PC titles, but even others from PlayStation: God of War, The Last of Us Part I, Days Gone y Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, among others, are Verified, while Helldivers 2 is Playable. Ghost of Tsushima is still pending, but is expected to be Verified.
