After delighting us with some good live-action adaptations such as One Piece and Yu Yu Hakusho, Netflix continues to exploit this successful formula with the incorporation of City Hunter, a movie which adapts the classic series of anime from the 80s that in Spain we could enjoy during the 90s, in turn an adaptation of the manga of the same name by Tsukasa Hojo.

Directed by Yuichi Sato (The Master Plan, Kasane, Poison Berry in My Brain) y con Ryôhei Suzuki (Inspector Zenigata, Baragaki: Unbroken Samurai, Mole Song Final) leading the cast, the plot of City Hunter revolves around Ryo Saeba, a private detective admired and hated in equal parts who is in charge of chasing criminals while pursuing beautiful women.
Despite his unorthodox methods and his “out there” attitude with women, Ryo is a professional at his job capable of solving the most complicated cases.
“This film follows the number one 'sweeper' Ryo Saeba, who cleans up problems in the underworld, in An exciting, action-packed adventure in modern Shinjuku“, details the official synopsis of the film.
Apart from Ryôhei Suzuki, they complete the cast of City Hunter Misato Morita (She Loves to Cook, and She Loves to Eat, School Girl’s Gestation, The Naked Director), Fumino Kimura (Rohan at the Louvre, The Fable: The Killer Who Doesn't Kill, The Skit Begins) and Masanobu Ando (Kenshin the Samurai Warrior: The Beginning, Sailor Suit and Machine Gun: Graduation, Battle Royale).
