Doctor Who's two-generation scene is nominated for the 2024 BAFTA Awards
As stated in the official account of the series through X, The 2024 BAFTA Awards have nominated the two-generation scene from the 60th anniversary special of Doctor Who in the Best Moments category.
This sequence takes place in the last special episode, entitled The Laughter, where the Doctor is hit by the powerful UNIT cannon fired by the malevolent and twisted Toymaker (played brilliantly by Neil Patrick Harris).
Although we were all prepared to cry our eyes out with David Tennant's new farewell, to our surprise the Fourteenth Doctor does not regenerate as such, but rather his next version, Ncuti Gatwa's Fifteenth Doctor, emerges from within him.
Together, both Doctors face the toymaker in one of their challenges and the Time Lords emerge victorious. The Fifteenth Doctor takes advantage of the fact that the Toymaker's rules are still active to duplicate the TARDIS and leaves in search of more adventures while the previous version of him achieves what he had always sought: a normal life in the company of the Noble family.
The 2024 BAFTA Television Awards take place on May 12, 2024 at the Royal Festival Hall in London. Do you think that the two-generation of Doctor Who will manage to win the award for Best Television Moment? Tell us in our comments section.
