After the first major content update for Pioneers of Pagonia from the German developer Envision Entertainment, there is further news that we are reporting on here.
Sale and hotfix
As part of the Steam Spring Sales, Pioneers of Pagonia like Palworld and Enshrouded are also available at a discount. This is 15 percent, so the Settlers Hope currently costs 25.49 instead of 29.99 euros until March 21st. If the price sounds familiar: It is actually not the first time that PoP has been offered at this rate, as SteamDB reveals. The 15 percent was available as an introductory discount and also in February. But that doesn't change the fact that Envision Entertainment has once again activated the cheapest price. For comparison: Palworld and Enshrouded, both of which are also early access games, offer a 10 percent discount on Steam.
It's also worth mentioning that the economic update for Pioneers of Pagonia wasn't without its flaws. A short time later, Envision released hotfix 0.41, which brought three changes. On the one hand, the respective borders now disappear when you deactivate the user interface. On the other hand, the logging of errors has been improved if the game stalls during map creation. A bug has been fixed with AMD Radeon graphics cards. The waves on the lakes should now also be displayed with a gentle animation.

Technically, update 0.4 offers some improvements. With the revised camera you can now zoom out further. There are also rendering performance improvements in situations with a lot of stacks on screen, more LoD levels on many assets to improve performance, and reduced VRAM usage. Since certain old graphics drivers cause problems with procedural map generation, these are now recognized and map generation is prevented. The user then needs an updated driver or can otherwise only play the pre-selected cards and save saves that were created on another system. The audio mixing has also been improved.
