Have you ever heard of the Panasonic Jungle? Probably not considering that the portable platform of Panasonic it never became a reality, with distribution canceled just a step away from its debut on the market. Some models were produced, however, and there is someone who is trying to sell a non-working one on Ebay.
A Panasonic Jungle has appeared on the “bay” with a selling price set at $45,000, an impressive figure for what can be considered to all intents and purposes a museum piece of which there will be very few units still in circulation at best. Going more specifically, as explained by the seller on Ebay, “the Panasonic Jungle has never been sold to the public and now only a handful of units exist. The model for sale has no battery or any charger and therefore does not start, but it is still in excellent condition.”
Announced in 2010, the Panasonic Jungle was a portable console designed primarily for MMOs and at the time three games were confirmed in development for the platform: Battlestar Galactica Online, Runescape e Stellar Dawn. It should have become reality in 2011 (therefore competing with Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita) through two distinct models, one with Wi-Fi offered at the price of $249.99, and one with 3G sold for $349.99.
Among the key features of the device we find a keyboard and a touch pad, while the screen would have reached a resolution of 720p. However, at the very end, in March 2011, Panasonic blocked distribution of the console giving as the official reason “changes in the market and in our commercial strategies” behind the stop to the production and sale of the product.
All that remains of the Panasonic Jungle is therefore some very rare model, like this one for sale on Ebay: do you have 45,000 dollars set aside to make this unique piece yours?
They are Microsoft Wireless Controller for Xbox, Charcoal Black USB Cable – is one of today's best sellers.
