For now, the game will only be sold on the GOG store.
Spy action role-playing game Alpha Protocol is available for purchase again – game appeared in the library of the GOG store owned by CD Projekt. For the previous four and a half years, Alpha Protocol had been out of stock.
The game was released for sale in the summer of 2019 – at that time Alpha Protocol was sold on Steam. The halt in sales was explained by the expiration of the license for the music featured in the game.
Returning to sale, Alpha Protocol has received a number of improvements. The game now supports the latest gamepads, performance has been improved on modern PCs, and cloud saves and achievements previously only available on consoles have been added.
The GOG version of Alpha Protocol is localized in eight languages, including Russian – however, only with the help of subtitles. The music license apparently was re-licensed: the soundtrack was not cut from the game.
We don't know yet whether Alpha Protocol will return to Steam. At the time of writing, the game is only sold on GOG.
