It is no secret that the Kunos Simulazioni studio is working on the game Assetto Corsa 2. At the same time, at the moment there is practically no information about the game. It was originally planned to be released in the spring of 2024, but was later postponed to the summer. At the same time, there has still been no full announcement with a demonstration of gameplay, and initially the game is planned to be released only in early access on PC.
The head of the Kunos Simulazioni studio, Marco Massarutto, spoke in an interview about what Assetto Corsa 2 will be like. According to him, the game is a full-fledged continuation of the original realistic racing simulator, and not a spin-off, which was Assetto Corsa Competizione:
In short, the code name (AC2) that was assigned to Competizione was incorrect. The new Assetto Corsa will follow what we did with Assetto Corsa 1. It's not just a sequel, it's much more than that. It's definitely not a spin-off like Competizione.
Assetto Corsa Competizione is due to receive a major DLC GT World Challenge Pack this spring, which will include the legendary Nürburgring 24 Hours race.
