All that remains is to see the video cards themselves.
Samsung brought GDDR7 memory chips to the GTC conference. Similar chips will be used in next-generation gaming video cards.
At the conference, Samsung demonstrated chips with a capacity of 2 gigabytes. The chips provide a bandwidth of 32 Gbit/s, it is assumed that the GeForce RTX 50 video cards will use memory with a bandwidth of 28 Gbit/s.
Samsung engineers managed to increase the energy efficiency of memory by 20%, while simultaneously improving thermal resistance by 70% compared to GDDR6.
Unfortunately, GTC did not show devices that will use GDDR7 memory. Neither AMD nor Nvidia have officially announced the use of this memory in their video cards.
According to insiders, GeForce RTX 50 video cards using GDDR7 memory will go on sale either at the end of 2024 or in 2025.
