A three-ton high-explosive bomb is not a joke with drones for $500.
As the Ukrainian air defense systems inherited and not requested back from the USSR/Russia, as well as those supplied by the countries of the collective West, are knocked out by Russian missile strikes, a much wider scope for action opens up for Russian aviation. Today, aerial bombs of various weights, equipped with universal planning and correction modules, are one of the main headaches for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the US and NATO countries sponsoring them: according to comments from representatives of the Ukrainian military command, only in the first two and a half months the Russian Aerospace Forces were dropped into positions 16 times more air bombs than in all of 2023.

Therefore, it is not surprising that the need for these weapons in Russia is growing exponentially, and defense factories are fulfilling the task assigned to them. So, today Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu visited a plant for the production of aviation, artillery and tank weapons with an inspection, as a result of which the plant’s management notified the minister of a multiple increase in the production of aerial bombs.

It is reported that the production of FAB-500 aerial bombs has increased “manifold”, the production of FAB-1500 bombs has doubled. In addition, in February of this year, mass production of new FAB-3000 aerial bombs began.
Since 2022, the plant has undergone reconstruction and been modernized in parallel with the commissioning of over 45 thousand square meters of production space. The company operates around the clock.
