The players of Dragon’s Dogma 2 are determined to improve the framerate of the game at all costs… really at all, in the sense that they are organizing themselves to kill the NPCs (non-player characters) considered useless. Capcom has in fact explained that the performance problems depend precisely on them and on how the system calculates the impact of their presence on the surrounding environment. So here's the solution: exterminate them.
We could also wait for a definitive patch, but the path of massacre seems more attractive to many, also because the NPCs killed in Dragon's Dogma 2 remain dead, so they are effectively eliminated from the game. In short, it seems that Capcom has created a loop that encourages mass extermination.
Psychopaths?
The players are planning a massacre of NPCs
The elimination of NPCs is not happening irrationally. In fact, players are organizing themselves on Reddit to understand which characters can be eliminated without consequences, i.e. without losing missions and content. Others have suggested a quicker way: kill them after the quests.
Honestly, it seems like a behavior that is a bit at odds with the story told by the game, but evidently the framerate is more important than everything else for some. Who knows if Capcom had thought about what would happen by speaking openly about the NPC problem.
For the rest, we remind you that Dragon's Dogma 2 is available for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5. for further details read our review.
