The stealth was not very successful, and the controls could have been better.
The only major PlayStation exclusive in early 2024 is the action Rise of the Ronin from the Team Ninja studio. Judging by the first reviews, the developers did not have an unconditional hit: the press actively criticizes some aspects of the game.
Rise of the Ronin currently has a score of around 77 out of 100 on Metacritic, which is lower than Capcom's Dragon's Dogma 2. Reviewers generally praise the developers, but note that there are many questions about the game.
On the plus side, journalists note the interesting setting: the journey through slightly fantasy Japan of the 19th century turned out to be interesting. The game captivates with many interesting little things: for example, here you can get a glider, and then dive onto a horse and continue on your way.
Reviewers praise the role-playing system, noting the huge number of well-developed characters and a truly interesting, varied plot. Players can expect pleasantly challenging boss battles and a combat system that requires the player to plan first and act later.
On the other hand, the developers failed to create interesting stealth mechanics and come up with a normal loot system. The game, journalists complain, constantly bombards the player with a gigantic number of objects, most of which are easier to throw away.
There are questions about the combat system in terms of controls: it is not very convenient. Having created a large world, the developers were not able to fill it with interesting content everywhere – sometimes you come across not very interesting things.
