Video game adaptations do not stop. After the announcement of the sequel to Super Mario Bros. The Movie, the next feature film that has almost confirmed its adaptation is one of the most unexpected: The Sims. The successful Electronic Arts simulator will feature a live-action film with very interesting names in its production.
As reported by journalist Jeff Sneider and the American media The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be produced by Margot Robbiewho after the enormous success of Barbie, wants to contribute to this interesting and enigmatic film, since the game as such is basically a real-life simulator.
Also involved will be Vertigo Entertainment, which is also producing the film. Minecraft and has financed other enormously successful works such as Nimona, the It duology and The Lego Movie. The direction will be in charge of Kate Herronwho, although he does not have much experience on the big screen, does have experience in large productions, since he has directed up to 6 episodes of Lokithe Marvel series on Disney+.
As for the plot, it is completely unknown where this adaptation will go, but it is very likely that its approach will be similar to that of Barbie: breaking the fourth wall and going beyond the video game itself to give it a unique and particular touch, while maintaining in turn the details that make The Sims such a special title.
