After the closure of the Yuzu emulator following a letter received from Nintendo's lawyers, the Suyu emulator, born just like Yuzu's spiritual heircloses its doors after a career that lasted only a few days.
At the end of February, Nintendo sued the authors of Yuzu for copyright infringement and the team decided to close the project. A few days later Suyu is bornanother Nintendo Switch emulator that would like to continue the path started by Yuzu.
A Suyu executable is hosted on the GitLab site but the client was removed in the last few hours after that the copyright owner has acted to enforce his rights. The name Nintendo is never expressly mentioned but speaks generically of “copyright holder”, as a result the Suyu project was closed and with it all the accounts and social profiles linked to the emulator.
Suyu used some of Yuzu's source code, the development team has always expressed a negative opinion towards piracy, describing Suyu as a client for running backup copies of Switch games. Evidently, however, the copyright owner does not agree and thus Suyu's career ends, at the moment there are no legal consequences for the authors, who closed the project as soon as they received the letter of copyright infringement.
