The recently released Dragon's Dogma 2 is not only causing trouble on the PC because of its technical inadequacies, but there are also previously uncommunicated microtransactions. These range from DLCs such as sounds and equipment to items and objective markers. You can no longer simply edit your own character after it has been created. A new mod now at least puts an end to this DLC and lets players change their appearance as often as they want.
Mod lets players change appearance for free
The appearance of your own Awakened can no longer be easily changed after character creation. To do this, players must purchase the Art of Metamorphosis book, which is only available for Rift Crystals. These crystals can be found at rift stones or by sending out your own pawn or – how practical – bought as a microtransaction.
However, with the “Early N' Cheap Art of Metamorphosis” mod, the required tomes are no longer available for 500 Rift Crystals, but can be purchased for 10 gold from a merchant in Melve. This dealer carries 99 books so players can change their appearance as they are funny. However, in order to change one's appearance using the “art of metamorphosis,” one still needs to visit a barber. The mod also requires the Fluffy Mod Manager to be installed, which is already used for other Capcom games such as Resident Evil 4 Remake, Monster Hunter Rise or Devil May Cry 5.
Capcom itself has already commented on the players' displeasure and apologized. Critical issues such as crashes and freezes are currently being investigated and resolved. However, regarding the unloved and unmentioned microtransactions before the game's launch, the company stated that “all […] Items could also be unlocked in the game.
