There's no denying that Evernote is an extremely useful platform. Notes, tasks, calendar and everything with the option to share with other people or consult your files on different devices. But it's no longer the only app.
We tested some of the applications with similar proposals and listed the 4 best below, based on the variety of features and practicality of use. They are all free and, for sure, one or more will make you think about exchanging your Evernote for one of them.
1. Notebook – Take notes
The Notebook application, from Zoho Corp, works extremely similar to Evernote in terms of features. You can save text notes of different sizes, in which you can add images, links, formatting such as to-do lists, tables, quotes, tags and more. You can still add reminders and voice notes.
In a simple and clean interface, Notebook shows its style through the different covers for the notebooks that are created. Notes are shareable and synced in the cloud so you can access them from any device.
Although it has one feature or another less than Evernote, it is an excellent substitute, especially for those who primarily use note-taking features. You can even migrate your notes from Evernote to Notebook, something that Zoho Corp teaches in a video tutorial.
It's free and available for Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS.
2. Simplenote
Simplenote was created by Automattic, the company also responsible for WordPress. As the name suggests, it is a simple notes application, with few customization options. To organize notes, the platform also has options to pin notes to the top of the list and separate them by labels. Additionally, you can also insert checklists and images into notes.
It is well suited for those who appreciate the minimalism of the classic notepad, but with image, sharing and cloud synchronization features. In other words, this application brings simplicity combined with the possibility of accessing your notes from any device.
Simplenote is free and available on the web and for iOS, Mac, Android, Windows and Linux.
3. ClickUp
Another excellent alternative to Evernote, ClickUp is a multifunctional tool with features for creating documents, notes, calendars and much more. All with the possibility of connecting your files to workflows to share information and manage projects in collaboration with teams.
For notes, the platform offers different formatting features, such as varied fonts and the ability to insert images, audio notes, hyperlinks, to-do lists and more. For work teams, the platform has integration with applications such as Dropbox, Slack, Figma, GitHub, Google Calendar and Google Drive.
A big difference with ClickUp is that it already has an Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool. ClickUp AI can answer questions, help with brainstorming ideas, correct spelling mistakes, and even summarize longer documents.
ClickUp offers free and paid plans. It is available for multiple platforms.
4. Dropbox paper
Dropbox also has its own notes platform. With a simple interface, Dropbox Paper has features for creating text notes, in which you can insert images, videos, tables, timelines, task lists and codes.
With the media insertion option, the user can easily search for images and videos on pages such as YouTube, Giphy, Unsplash and Google Drive. The app also has integration with other applications, such as Spotify and Trello.
With cloud synchronization, it allows sharing with different devices. It is available as a web version, desktop apps and apps for mobile devices.
