It could be a translation error or a misunderstanding, but Noisy Pixel's interview with Naoki Yoshida, producer of Square Enix, seems to hint at the possible arrival of Final Fantasy 16 are Xboxwhereas the manufacturer seems to mention “other platforms” after release on PS5 and PC.
The question remains very vague, also because it probably cannot be further clarified by Yoshida at the moment, but the answer to a question about how the team feels about the idea of abandoning Final Fantasy 16 after the publication of The Rising Tide DLC raises at least the question about the possible arrival of the game on Xbox Series
“Is it hard for you and the team to say goodbye to all these characters after this DLC?” The Noisy Pixel journalist asked, referring to the alleged abandonment of the game after the publication of the Rising Side DLC for Final Fantasy 16, and Yoshida's response raises questions, as we see below.
A project still ongoing with other platforms?
Final Fantasy 16 is coming to PC, and perhaps other platforms
“It's not over yet, in the sense that we still have the PC version. Once the PC version has been launched, we are thinking of being able to move, hopefully, to other platforms as well. In any case, this is not about the story, yes it is precisely about move to other platforms“, reported the producer.
“There is still the feeling that, as long as the project continues on these fronts, there is no point in being sad about having to leave it. But I'm pretty sure that once everything is out and we move on to the next project , then we will find ourselves thinking, Is it really all over?”.
In the meantime we have known the release date of Final Fantasy 16: The Rising Tide, set for April 18, 2024 and the PC version will probably arrive after this. Apparently, curiously, there could also be aanother version coming soonwhich in fact would return with the logic of the main chapters, considering that they are all also present on Xbox, with the recent arrival of Final Fantasy 14 and the recent reopening of Square Enix towards Xbox.
